Interview with Jake Peterson

Jake Peterson is a Heritage Christian Class of 2020 alumni that got his senior year cut short because of the pandemic, COVID-19.

Q. What were you most disappointed about cutting the senior year short?

A. The biggest disappointment was not being able to go to New York with my journalism class and Austria with my choir.

Q. Do you feel like you’re getting the full college experience?

A. Definitely not, I haven’t met any of my classmates.

Q. Has this experience taught you anything?

A. Yes it has, it has taught me that I value people and relationships.

Q. Is your first semester of online college difficult since you’re not physically with the teacher?

A. Yes, but they are very helpful. It’s hard online but the teachers are very good about helping us.

Q. Do you feel like online learning is worth your money?

A. Yes, i think it’s worth my money because i’m going to a state school and it is more affordable than a private school.

Q. Has staying home and not being around your classmates affect your mental health?

A. Yes, but having a lot of family home with me is very helpful.

Q. What was your most memorable high school experience?

A. Being Santa Claus at a school event.

Q. What advice would you give to the seniors?

A. Enjoy not having the stress of college and be on your own.
